A steering system of a fork lift truck is provided to control the diameter of the steering wheel according to the different physical conditions of drivers. A steering system of a fork lift truck is composed of an RPM control device(20) which is electrically connected to an electric motor or an engine(10) in order to change the RPM of an electric motor or an engine, support members(32) supporting a wheel portion(33), an adjusting member which is geared with the support members to be able to control the length, and a variable steering wheel(30) for controlling the wheel diameter with the adjusting member. The support member is composed of an inside support member and an outer support member.
