For covering a stack of individual pieces positioned next to or on top of each other, for example bags containing bulk material, a blown film is withdrawn in sections from a blown-film magazine so as to form a blown-film hood, gathered in the direction of withdrawal, separated, sealed at the point of separation and expanded by elongation. The gathered and expanded blown-film hood obtained in this way is then pulled across the stack such that the gathering unfolds and is thus applied to the stack under prestress. The blown film used with this method contains polyolefins, notably polyethylene copolymers and/or metallocene-catalyzed polyolefins and can thus be elastically elongated by between approximately 70 % and 150 %. |
