A mobile communication terminal and a control method thereof are provided to hear the character information of a transmitter received from the transmitter terminal in the voice of the transmitter by adding voice characteristic information to the character information. A key input unit(110) receives character information according to the operation of plural keys, and a voice input/output unit(120) outputs a voice signal or receives the voice from a user. A voice information extraction unit(140) extracts the voice characteristics for the voice signal, and a voice conversion unit(170) converts the character information into a voice signal.
