PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved power transmission device 1 for transmitting power between a driving machine and a driven part while effectively protecting a piston element from axial force based on hydrodynamic effects, comprising an input part E, an output part A, a hydrodynamic structural member 3 having a pump impeller P and a turbine wheel T, and a device 5 for partially locking up the structural member 3, the device having an adjusting device having the piston element 10 to be loaded with pressure medium, wherein a means is provided for giving influences to a difference in the rotating speed of fluid medium. SOLUTION: The means has an interference element 12 which can be rotated synchronously with the piston element 10 but is not connected directly to the piston element 10. The interference element 12 extends outward in the radial direction, and it is arranged at least in an outer diameter region in the radial direction while being kept at an axial space from the piston element 10.
