The mounting system comprises an assembly element (MON), and an illuminating diode is arranged on the assembly element. The translational movement of the regulating element is changed around an axis of rotation into rotational movement of an optical element. The regulating element is longitudinally movable back and forth in or at the housing of the light unit or the vehicle headlight in a direction.
