The method involves exerting a force acting radially from inside out on an element, where the element comprises a threaded structure on its upper surface. The element is arranged inside a casing (100) so that a thread is produced by shaping the casing, where the element works together with a press jaw (300) that comprises an inner structure in complementary to the threaded structure and surrounds the casing. Four segments are supported in such a manner that the segments move radially outward and exhibit a predetermined distance from each other in a circumferential direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for manufacturing a thread in a casing (2) an assembly for manufacturing a detachable connection of two housing parts.
