PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of reducing problems such as operation failures of a developing device by fixing of toner and early deterioration of toner, which are associated with temperature rise of toner within the developing device by suppressing the temperature rise of toner within the developing device, and consequently forming a satisfactory image accordingly. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus A, a heat radiating air distribution duct 400 is formed, with respect to at least one developing device 4, along a part BW of the outer wall of the developing device while using the part of the outer wall as a duct constituting part. The duct 400 extends in the direction of the center line of rotation of an electrostatic latent image carrier (photoreceptor 1) over the developing device length in this direction, and includes air distributing openings 401 and 402 at both end parts in this direction. An air distributing fan f (f') is provided in connection with the duct 400. The fan may be operated when the developing device temperature becomes a predetermined temperature or higher.
