PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device capable of effectively performing maintenance operation by a simple method without damaging an ink discharge surface when performing the maintenance operation of a recording head. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording device comprises the recording head 7 having the ink discharge surface 10, and a maintenance device 20 performing the maintenance of the recording head 7. The maintenance device 20 comprises a suction cap unit 21 performing the suction operation of filling ink in a nozzle 8, and an ink absorbing unit 22 provided downstream of the suction cap unit 21 in the moving direction of the recording head 7 after the suction operation, and having an ink absorber 27 contacting ink stuck to the ink discharge surface 10 in a non-contact state with the ink discharge surface 10 to absorb the ink.
