The container (12) has a receiving opening (16) provided in a lateral container wall (10). A tub-shaped mounting part (14) equipped with a step tread (18) is insertable and fixed at the container in the opening. The opening is provided in two heights of the wall, whose cross section is formed as elbow with a radius (R) in a region. An angle (alpha) is adjusted between the step tread and a wall (22) of the mounting part depending on the heights of the opening. The mounting part is positioned into the opening from outside by an edge (20) of the mounting part. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a container for a truck.
