The multi-system configuration has a train-side legacy system (2), which has components for different functionalities, and a master system, particularly European train control system (1). The master system is connected with selected component of the legacy system and a component-specific interface module (9) by a coupling (8). Master system controlling signals (10) are produced for activation or deactivation of the selected component.
