<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic opening/closing device for a hanging member which has a plurality of screws intermittently arranged in series as a driving source, and converts rotative power to a linear motion power to smoothly move and open/close a hanging member, such as a curtain or a partitioning curtain, with slight power. <P>SOLUTION: A rail structure for horizontally supporting a continuous hanging member openably and closably is provided with an inside screw-driving mechanism in which a plurality of screws are axially disposed at predetermined intervals, the screws are driven by a motor and are successively engaged with a plurality of power-transmitting rollers disposed on a power-transmitting member, and the power-transmitting member is connected with a leading runner adapted to run along a guide rail of the rail structure.
