PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus sufficiently suppressing deterioration in overall processing efficiency for jobs, which is caused by shortage of image forming materials. SOLUTION: A multifunction machine 1 stores sequentially input image forming jobs in a storing part 12 and orders execution of the job. Before executing the image forming job, the type of toner to be used to execute the job is specified on the basis of image data for image formation. Whether a toner empty signal is output or not is discriminated for the specified type of toner. When it is discriminated that no toner empty signal is output, execution orders are changed for image formation so that the image formation job takes precedence. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
