PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of inexpensively and surely performing color correction when using white LEDs of which the chromaticity ranks are not uniform, for a scanner light source using two white LEDs in both ends of a light transmission body. SOLUTION: In the scanner light source using a plurality of white LEDs with different chromaticity, chromaticity ranks of the white LEDs are determined, a plurality of color correction means are provided, and color conversion parameters corresponding to the chromaticity ranks are set to the plurality of color correction means. Furthermore, the image reading apparatus applies weighted-averaging to outputs from the plurality of color correction means, outputs a weight of the weighted average, and changes the weight in the middle of performing color conversion upon one main scan line.
