PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm composition or tilting of a played-back shot image even in an imaging apparatus comprising a small-sized display. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an imaging unit 113 for imaging a subject; a display unit 27 for displaying thereon an image captured by the imaging unit; and a display control unit 101 which controls to display on the display unit auxiliary scales, together with the image captured by the imaging unit, for confirming a position of the subject in the image.
