METHOD FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION IN IPTV SERVICE

An information providing method at the IPTV service is provided, which enables to confirm the detailed information of the specific news video image without stopping of the image. An information providing method at the IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) service is as follows. Information data of the news and news data is received from the news server(140) and is stored. The news manager table is updated with reference to information data. In the set top box, contents data are received from the contents server and are in the display device. One or more news video images included in news data are displayed in the form of the ticker. In the set top box, the focusing event about the specific news video image is sensed among the displayed news video image. The displayed ticker form news video image is stopped. In the set top box, the selection event about the specific news video image is sensed. The detailed information corresponding to the specific news video image is displayed in one part of the display equipment screen.
