PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly limit the storage of moving picture data in a recording medium by an automatic video recording function.

SOLUTION: A program extraction engine 421 of an automatic video recording module 42h extracts a recommendation program whose video recording is recommended among programs that are predetermined to be broadcasted. A reservation program 423 of the automatic video recording module 42h does not store the recommendation program in a recording medium when a temporary spare capacity of the recording medium does not exceed a first threshold or when temporary total data amount exceeds a second threshold even though the temporary spare capacity exceeds the first threshold.
