PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane element and a membrane module making it possible to easily determine whether membrane element temperature or inner temperature of the membrane module has not deviated from the upper and/or lower limit of the usable temperature range during use and storage after the event, and making it possible to know not only merely whether the membrane element temperature or inner temperature of the membrane module has not deviated from the upper and/or lower limit of the usable temperature range, but also the extent of deviation in the case of deviation. SOLUTION: The fluid separation membrane element is provided with the irreversible thermosensitive temperature display member.
