PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler capable of significantly improving defrosting effect of a cooler, and saving spaces of the cooler and a defrosting heater while reducing power consumption in defrosting. SOLUTION: This cooler 1 disposed in a refrigerator body as a heat insulating housing forming a storage compartment, is composed of a cooling pipe 2 in which a refrigerant flows, and which has the serpentine shape formed by connecting a straight pipe portion 2a and a bent pipe portion 2b bent roughly at 180 degrees, and a plurality of fins 4 penetrating through the straight pipe portion 2a of the cooling pipe 2. The defrosting heater 5 is disposed in a state of being kept into contact with the cooling pipe 2 at a side face of the cooler 2. As the defrosting heater 5 is closely kept into contact with the cooling pipe 2, heat conduction from the cooling pipe 2 and in-pipe convection flow can be significantly improved, and defrosting can be efficiently performed.
