PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector that is applicable to connection of both optical cable and coated optical fiber by eliminating deflection of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The optical connector is equipped with: a ferrule 20 with a built-in first optical fiber 200; a clamping part 12 for clamping a second optical fiber 102; an optical fiber connecting component 40 which, with the ferrule 20 fixed to one end, is designed to connect the first optical fiber 200 and the second optical fiber 102 by abutting them; a housing member 88 which houses the assembly of the ferrule and the optical fiber connecting component, movably in the axial direction L against an energizing force; and a link member 30 which makes interlocking possible for the assembly of the ferrule 20 and the optical fiber connecting component 40 with the clamping part 12, by linking the other end of the optical fiber connecting component 40 to the clamping part 12.
