PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure and to improve transmission efficiency and functional reliability in a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: The transmission includes: an input shaft 20; two speed change units U1, U2 symmetrically arranged with respect to a surface perpendicular to the direction of the axis line of the input shaft; an output rotating gear 90 rotating, speed-changed by the two speed change units, an output shaft 110; a loading cam mechanism 80 which generates a pressing force in the direction of the axis line L while lying between the two speed change units and enabling transmission of a rotating force; and a rotation compensation mechanism 101, 102 which automatically compensates a rotation gap produced by the speed changes of the two speed change units, synchronized with the movement of the output rotating gear traveling in the direction of the axis line by the cam action of the loading cam mechanism. Thus, when there is a gap between rotations speed-changed by the two speed change units, the rotation compensation mechanism compensates the rotation gap, and one speed change ratio is outputted from the output shaft.
