The aircraft has a cooling unit provided for influence of fuel flow rate through a fuel cell (10). The cooling unit exhibits a pressure regulator (34) provided in a supply line and an air regulator (52) provided in an exhaust line. The pressure regulator regulates the pressure of the fuel supply on the operating pressure of the fuel cell. The air regulator decreases the flow rate of the fuel flowing through the exhaust line. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a fuel cell of an aircraft.
