Production of a component with a decorative skin (9) comprises opening a tool (2) having temperature-controlled parts (3, 4), applying a support part (6) provided with ventilating holes (7a) and/or channels (7b) and placing the skin onto one tool parts, introducing a foam (8) and closing the tool, expanding the foam in the closed tool and degassing using the ventilating holes and/or channels, blocking the holes and/or channels using the foam to change the material properties corresponding to the narrow cross-sections of the holes and/or channels and opening and removing the finished component. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Component produced using the above method; and (2) Foaming tool for forming the above component.
