A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve a lifespan of the display device by preventing moisture and oxygen from permeating the display device layer by filling a buffer layer in an inner space between the display device layer and an encapsulating layer. A display device layer is formed in one side of a substrate. A protective film(500) is formed on the display device layer. An encapsulating layer(700) surrounds the display device layer and the protective film. A buffer layer(600) is formed between the protective film and the encapsulating layer.
