AN APPARATUS OF CONFIGURATION ADDRESS IN A IPV6-BASED LOW-POWER WIRELESS PERSONAL AREA NETWORK AND A METHOD THEREOF

A method for setting an address of an IP based low power wireless personal network and an apparatus thereof are provided to transmit prefix through a beacon frame, thereby preventing flooding and reducing the amount of traffic. An adaptation layer(200) comprises the following units. An RA(Router Advertisement) message parser(241) produces an adaptation RA message. A beacon payload controller(245) produces a beacon payload. The beacon payload controller delivers the produced beacon payload to a MAC layer(300). An RA message generator(247) receives the beacon payload from the MAC layer. The RA message and prefix are extracted through the received beacon payload. The RA message parser requests that the RA message and prefix are delivered to a network layer(100).
