<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge having constitution that securely prevents imaging equipment from deteriorating in durability and a defective image from being formed by maintaining an air-conditioned atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: The process cartridge 7 is composed of a housing having a space wherein imaging equipment can be stored, has an opening 7A capable of communicating with an outer side in part of the housing so that an image carrier 8 as one imaging device can be exposed through the opening 7A while facing a transfer means 4A, and is equipped with a supply means 14 for air controlled into a state wherein an ionized substance is deterred from being produced in the housing. An opening/closing means 17 is provided in the opening 7A, and the opening/closing means 17 is configured to make the inner side of the space airtight by closing the opening 7A during a nonuse period corresponding to a period wherein the latent image carrier 8 does not transfer an image to a transfer means 4A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
