A liquid crystal electrostatic lens and a 3-d display unit employing the same are provided to define the rubbing direction as a vertical direction or a horizontal direction, thereby securing a lens effect with improved profile. A liquid crystal electrostatic lens comprises a first substrate(100), a second substrate(150), a first electrode(101), a second electrode(103), a first alignment layer(105), a second alignment layer(152) and a liquid crystal layer. The first and second substrates include a plurality of lens regions, which face each other. The first electrodes are located on the first substrate at a distance from each other. The degree of applied power becomes greater from the center to the edge of the lens regions. The second electrodes are formed on the second substrate. The first alignment layer is formed on the front surface of the first substrate. The second alignment layer formed on the second electrode has an anti-parallel direction of the first alignment layer. The liquid crystal layer is filled between the first substrate and the second substrate.
