A calcium-coated grain using beta-glucan and a preparation method thereof are provided to secure a high calcium absorption rate and excellent bioavailability using beta-glucan. A calcium-coated grain consists of a grain and a surface-treated layer containing calcium and beta-glucan. The beta-glucan comprises a beta-1,3 bonding main glucose chain whose at least one glucose indicates beta-1,3/1,6-glucan or its derivative. The calcium is selected from the group consisting of water-soluble calcium, insoluble calcium and their mixture. The calcium can be selected from the group consisting of calcium lactate, calcium glycerophosphate, calcium gluconate, soluble algal calcium, ionized calcium and their mixture. The grain is selected from the group consisting of rice grain, barley rice grain, bean, millet, red bean, black sesame, corn, buckwheat and their mixture. The content of beta-glucan is 0.2-1.0 part on a weight basis of 100 parts of calcium. The content of calcium is 3000-4500 parts on a weight basis of 100 parts of grains. The surface-treated layer contains additives selected from the group consisting of minerals, vitamin D3, maltose, casein phosphopeptide, isoflavone, isomalto-oligosaccharides and their mixture.
