A portable reading stand is provided to enable a user to conveniently read a book that the user carries, by simply supporting the book on the stand in a moving subway or bus. A body supports a book(12). A fixture unit forms an elastic part. The elastic part holds the book to fix the book supported on the body. A hinge unit is mounted on a lower protruded part of the body. The hinge unit is connected to rotate up and down by a fixing pin. One pair of handle units are inserted into the inside of the hinge unit. The one pair of the handle units are coupled by a fixing pin to be unfolded right and left in sections. Fixing stands for preventing pages of the book from being turned over are comprised on surfaces of the handle units.
