PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent detection of an abnormality due to factors irrelevant to the shock of earthquake during diagnostic operation in case of earthquake and early resume operation after the earthquake occurs. SOLUTION: This control device for an elevator is provided with a data measurement part 12 for performing measurement regarding the operating state of the elevator and with a storage part 18 in which abnormality reference values are stored. During the diagnostic operation in case of earthquake after control operation in case of earthquake, when a measurement value by the data measurement part 12 is deviated from a first detection range set based on the abnormality reference values, it is determined that an abnormality occurs. Normal time diagnostic operation having operation contents set based on operation contents of the diagnostic operation in case of earthquake is performed in predetermined conditions irrelevant to the earthquake occurrence. During the normal time diagnostic operation, when the measurement value by the data measurement part 12 is deviated from the second detection range set based on the first detection range, updating of the abnormality reference values is performed.
