PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicating instrument for preventing optical leakage from a light guide member while transparent illumination of an index section disposed on a display board is uniformly performed. SOLUTION: This indicating instrument comprises a light source 15, a display board 12, the light guide member 16, a display window section 12B of the display board 12, and displays D1, D2 and D3 for displaying predetermined information from the display window section 12B. The light guide member 16 has a light receiving section 16A for receiving a light beam from the light source 15 and a light guide section 16B extending along a board surface of the display board 12. A light shielding frame 17 is disposed along the end surface section of the light guide section 16B corresponding to the display window section 12B of the display board 12. Thus, the index section 12A on the display board 12 is brightly and uniformly transmitted and illuminated by the light guide section 16B formed in the light guide member 16, and a light beam trying to leak from the end surface of the light guide section 16B is shielded by the light shielding frame 17.
