<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC-DC converter which reduces higher harmonic waves without increasing the number of multiconnection inverters and allows less power loss. <P>SOLUTION: AC voltage midpoints of two half-bridge inverters 11 having different AC voltages are connected to each other through a connecting line 16. A pair of output terminals U1 and U1' (U2 and U2') are extended from connection points of switching elements of the two half-bridge inverters 11, respectively, to form a multilevel inverter 15. The pair of output terminals U1 and U1' (U2 and U2') of the multilevel inverter 15 are electrically connected in series with a transformer 13 to achieve multiconnection of the multilevel inverter 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
