PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a contact device in which contact and non-contact of a prescribed number of rotational contacts and a prescribed number of switching contacts can be switched by rotation of a key inserted into a key cylinder. SOLUTION: In an ignition switch 30, a first contact 60 and a second contact 68 are rotated integrally with rotation of the ignition key, and each rotational position of the ignition key 24, patterns of contact or non-contact of the rotational contact 62 of the first contact and the switching contact 66 of a first terminal base 34, and that of contact or non-contact of the rotational contact 70 of the second contact 68 and the switching contact 74 of the second terminal base 36 are different. Here, since the first contact 60 and the second contact 68 are separated from and opposed to each other in back and forth directions, a rotation diameter of the first contact 60 and the second contact 68 can be made smaller, and the ignition switch 30 can be downsized.
