PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple means for specifically and sensitively detecting an apple, even for a sample containing a plurality of plant species, in a manner of being distinguished it from the other species that are closely related. SOLUTION: The primer set for apple detection can specifically amplify a DNA fragment, containing base sequence characteristic to an apple in an ITS (Internal Transcribed Spacer)-1 region of the apple, wherein one primer of the primer set is an oligonucleotide containing consecutive 10-16 bases from among the 3'-terminal of a specific base sequence.
