A discharge lamp is provided to suppress the temperature rise of the welding unit by maintaining the distance between a melting ceiling and a welding unit 8 mm or more. The anode(13) is made of a lid part(131) consisting of a cylindrical body(130), and a tungsten preventing the opening of the gas part. The gas collateral flange part(130a) is protruded to the diametric direction of the gas part. The lid part flange part(131a) is protruded to the diametric direction of the lid part. The penetration hole(133) for the gas introduction connected to the outer space of the enclosure C within an anode is formed in the lid part. The concave part(134) is formed at the center of the lid part. The anode is supported by inserting the inside lead bar in a recessed part.
