<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control transmitter capable of acquiring EPG (Electronic Program Guide) information without requiring the transfer of EPG information from a broadcast receiver or the like, and a broadcast receiving system using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The remote control transmitter is for remote-controlling a broadcast receiver for receiving broadcasts, and is equipped with an information acquiring unit that acquires EPG information by receiving an EPG broadcast relating to the broadcasts.
