PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an abnormal signal from propagating in a multi-drop connection type communication line. SOLUTION: Abnormal signal propagation preventing devices P1 to Pn, P are arranged in field buses FB1 and FB2 having a trunk line K and a plurality of branch lines S1 to Sn connecting a plurality of process devices N1 to Nn to the trunk line K. The abnormal signal propagation preventing device detects an abnormal signal propagating from the branch lines S1 to Sn to the trunk line K and disconnects the abnormal branch line S1 which has output the abnormal signal.
