The present invention relates to compositions comprising at least about 8% beta-glucans and/or at least about 8% alpha-fucans, which has a prebiotic effect and act as a replacement for in-feed antibiotics. The present invention also relates to extraction methods to obtain such extracts and various uses for the compositions comprising beta-glucans and/or alpha-fucans.
