<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus to establish a stable communication status in a short time, and to allow other radio communication apparatus to effectively utilize a channel of a frequency in the same domain. <P>SOLUTION: A bit error rate signal generated by a bit error rate signal generating section 52 is transmitted to an attenuation section 41 by a transmission section 31, attenuated by the attenuation section 41, and then input to a coupling section 43. The coupling section 43 couples external noise received via an antenna 2 and the attenuated bit error rate signal and outputs a resultant signal to a second receiving section 45. A field strength detection section 46 detects a field strength of the signal received by the second receiving section 45, and a bit error rate measuring section 54 measures a bit error rate of the signal received by the second receiving section 45.
