PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device which does not require a nonvolatile memory for initialization setting of a control data to a register and does not require a selector or an aluminum master cell for selecting outputs of the register in order to substitute the nonvolatile memory. SOLUTION: The semiconductor device used for liquid crystal driving or the like comprises the register 40 in which the control data for adjusting characteristics of circuits such as a gradation voltage production circuit 20 are stored, wherein the register is constituted with an arrangement of a first latch circuit which latches a logical value one in response to a first state of an initializing control signal and a first state of a latch enable control signal, and a second latch circuit which latches a logical value zero corresponding to the control data that the initialization setting should be performed. The semiconductor device does not requires an EPROM and does not require the selector which receives outputs of the register or the aluminum master cell which can be selected by the selector, at all.
