PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress electric discharge due to excessive power of an electric storage device during reverse traveling.

SOLUTION: When reverse traveling is carried out while setting a shift position in an R-position, if a traction control (TRC) off switch is turned on so that traction control (TRC) by a brake ECU is not carried out (S120), a stopped engine is started (S140) or operation of the engine is continued. In this way, a slip due to idling of a driving wheel occurs during reverse traveling, and the engine is started while discharging of a battery is carried out, so that further discharging of the battery is prevented. Consequently, electric discharge due to excessive power of the battery can be reduced when reverse traveling is carried out.
