PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a high-definition image having a resolution higher than a transmittable resolution stored in a recording apparatus, to be displayed on a television device at a connection destination. SOLUTION: When a recording apparatus 10 determines that a high-definition image stored therein can be displayed on a television device 30, the recording apparatus 10 determines whether the high-definition image can be transmitted to the television device 30 by a HDMI cable K1. When determining that the high-definition image cannot be transmitted as it is because the number of pixels of the high-definition image exceeds the transmittable resolution, the recording apparatus 10 generates divided images by dividing the high-definition image into such a size that they can be transmitted, and generates position information showing positions in the high-definition image of respective divided images and transmits the divided images and position information to the television device 30. The television device 30 couples the transmitted divided images on the basis of the position information to restore the original high-definition image and displays the restored high-definition image.
