<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information-providing device which always displays advertisements, while ensuring a large screen for displaying information which a user requests, and enables a user to easily acquire local area information; and to provide an information-providing method. <P>SOLUTION: The information-providing device 20 connects a terminal device to a communication network 2 in response to a request from the terminal device connected via a communication line. The information-providing device 20 includes; a tool bar-displaying means 203 which makes the terminal device display a tool bar having a local area information column and an advertisement column; a local area information-displaying means 207 which displays local area information relating to users' living areas on the terminal device in response to access to the local area information column; and an advertisement-displaying means 209 which displays advertisement information in the advertisement column. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
