<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decomposition-removing method and decomposition treatment device of a hydrogen sulfide gas, in which the hydrogen sulfide gas generated from various kinds of waste caused by people's lives or by the methane fermentation process or the like can be decomposition-treated easily and efficiently into a safe state, the subsequent second treatment is also easy, and the economic efficiency is excellent. <P>SOLUTION: The decomposition-removing method of the hydrogen sulfide gas comprises the step of contacting a gas containing the generated hydrogen sulfide gas with an iron oxide catalyst heated and kept at 110-230°C to cause a thermolysis, of producing at least a sulfurous acid gas, and of decomposing the hydrogen sulfide gas.
