PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detector reduced in size, having a satisfactory yield, when manufactured, and attaining reduction in cost. SOLUTION: In the torque detector 1, a sensor yoke 30 is disposed opposite a permanent magnet 20 in the axial direction thereof. The sensor yoke 30 includes a first sensor yoke part 30a, including a plurality of claw poles arranged in an annular fashion, in the circumferential direction inside a radial direction and a second sensor yoke part 30b outside the radial direction. The claw poles 50 of the first sensor yoke part 30a and the claw poles 51 of the second sensor yoke part 30b are arranged alternately on the same circumference, or on substantially the same circumference. The inner end part of the claw pole 50, with respect to the radial direction, is extended in the circumferential direction to the inner circumference of the inner end parts of both the adjacent claw poles 51 with respect to the radial direction. The outer-end part of the claw pole 51, with respect to the radial direction, is extended in the circumferential direction to the outer circumference of the outer-end parts of both adjacent claw poles 50 with respect to the radial direction.
