PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image storage device capable of reducing the burden of a CPU in a time code processing, thereby more efficiently recording and reproducing coded data. SOLUTION: Coded data generated by an encoder is analyzed by a WRAPPER CPU 12 to generate a time code, and the time code is written in a shared memory 13. The WRAPPER CPU 12 transfers the coded data to a COM CPU 16 or a MEM CPU 19. The COM CPU 16 or the MEM CPU 19 records the coded data in a large-capacity material recording apparatus connected to the COM CPU 16 or the MEM CPU 19 in a file form in accordance with a recording indication from a MAIN CPU 14.
