PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the preliminary delivering of a recording head having a plurality of distances from a common ink feeding opening to respective delivering openings in an inkjet recording apparatus. SOLUTION: On first and second nozzle arrays with different distances from the common ink feeding opening to respective delivering openings, a ratio of a driving pulse width P2 to its lower limit pulse width Pth2 on the second nozzle array with a longer distance is made larger than a ratio (P1/Pth1) on the first nozzle array with a shorter distance. In addition, in the case of the nozzle array with the shorter distance, when the ratio of the pulse width is made larger than required, feeding energy sometimes increases and it is not preferable from a view point of energy reduction in the apparatus. From the above described points, the nozzle array having longer distance from the end part of the ink feeding opening to the delivering opening has a larger ratio of the pulse width, and based on it, preliminary delivering number or the like of each nozzle array is set.
