PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform registration when, in a radio relay apparatus of a PHS, a control unit that controls relay transmission inquires a storage unit to realize relay transmission only of a terminal station whose ID is stored in the storage unit and a registration unit writes the terminal station ID in the storage unit. SOLUTION: The registration unit 15 permits a control unit 13 to write a terminal station ID into a storage unit 14 by setting a registration mode just for a prescribed time, e.g., one minute after a power source unit 16 is activated or after a registration button 15a is operated. In response to the permission, the control unit 13 extracts the ID from a position registration signal, from a terminal station 3, received by a second radio communication unit 12 for terminal stations 3 and stores the ID in the storage unit 14. Therefore, it is not necessary to perform call originating operation of the terminal station 3 and if the terminal station 3 is powered on, only the ID of a nearby terminal station can be automatically registered while utilizing the position registration signal being transmitted in a prescribed cycle, so that the terminal station ID to permit relay can be easily registered.
