PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meandering preventing apparatus capable of attaining size reduction, space saving for mounting and application to a thin belt-like member. SOLUTION: In the meandering preventing apparatus, a correcting portion 3 includes rotating shafts 20, 26 which are in parallel to a face direction of the metallic belt-like member 1, a pair of rotating rollers 11, 12 which can rotate in such a state that an identical position on a front and a rear faces of the metallic belt-like member 1 is sandwiched from both the sides in a thickness direction of the metallic belt-like member 1, a drive portion (motor) 13 which can change the rotating shafts 20, 26 of the rotating rollers 11, 12 in a carrying direction of the metallic belt-like member 1, a joint bar 35, a ball nut 33, link arm portions 31, 32, and spindles (16, 24). When a signal is received by a control portion 4, the rotating shafts 20, 26 of the rotating rollers 11, 12 are changed by a drive portion into a slant state to the carrying direction of the metallic belt-like member 1, thus correcting meandering by applying a force in a direction opposite to the meandering direction to the metallic belt-like member 1.
