A pipe joint has a joint body (1) into which piping (4) is inserted and also has a connection member (2) installed on the piping (4) inserted into the joint body (1). The joint body (1) and the connection member (2) have screw-thread sections (14a, 21a). When the screw-thread sections (14a, 21a) are engaged with each other, the joint body (1) is fastened to the connection member (2).The connection member (2) has a holding section (22). On the outer peripheral surface of the holding section (22) is provided a pair or pairs of holding surfaces located at positions facing each other. At least that portion of the connection member (2) that includes the holding surfaces can be separated from the remaining portion of the connection member.
