Lightening material (I) for keratin fibres, obtained by mixing (before use) two separately packaged preparations, one of which (A) contains hydrogen peroxide while the other (B) does not, in which at least one of the preparations (A) and (B) contains an indicator (II) which changes color when (A) and (B) are mixed together. An independent claim is included for a method for lightening (bleaching) keratin fibres by applying (I), leaving it to act for 5-60 minutes and then rinsing it off or washing it off with a shampoo.
